Keep the bugs away from your next barbecue without resorting to unsafe insect sprays. Designed on the premise of a fly swatter, this hand held bug zapper is shaped like a tennis racket and kills insects on contact via an electric current when they touch the surface of the "net." The Bug Zapper operates on two "D" batteries and, for safety, activates when you press the button on it's handle. The bug zapper is safe for either indoor or outdoor use; however, people should exercise caution when the zapper is activated as it will cause a shock.

The Amazing battery operated hand held Bug Zapper terminates insects without using toxins! This triple layered electric Bug Zapper kills/electrocutes all flying insects such as mosquitoes, flies, gnats and spiders on contact, "just by waving at them." It looks like a small tennis racket. You can take it anywhere you go such as camping, BBQ, beach, and fishing. THIS IS NOT A TOY! The output power is relatively low, constituting no hazard to humans or pets at all. This powerful Bug Zapper emits no smell and uses no poisonous or harmful material. It's safe for indoor or outdoor use and praised the most effective, convenient and hygienic insect terminator. It leaves no smudge, smear or mess to clean up after. No splats or smears on your clean walls, windows, lighting fixtures, and furniture.

Bug Zapper

Pros: *You get to hear a loud satisfying "pop" with each kill. *Don't have to switch out batteries as aften because of longer lasting Ds are used. *Extra size of it allows for larger capaciters to give it higher voltage. Cons: *Hitting flies in mid air is a bit hard due to the weight of the thing, *and its not much use to ground insects because you can't swat it against the ground without breaking it. *Red warning light only stays on when button is depressed, even though it should stay on because juice will still remain in the capaciters for a while which can cause nasty suprises.

Too much fun to use, and effective

We bought this zapper rather than the others because it uses D batteries instead of wimpy AA's. And it delivers. We have killed all kinds of bugs with it, including some large wasps. The small bugs explode in a flash of light; the big evil ones are even more fun because they cling to it as they're being zapped. I even saw smoke coming out of one yellow jacket, and have seen arcs of light flashing across others. This is what you call "sweet revenge." The only thing is that it does not work very well on gnats: they get zapped by the grid, but they are often able to avoid the swatter altogether.

This Zapper delivers!!

My boyfriend and I ordered this product on a whim, because it looked like an enjoyable way to spend a Saturday night. After exhausting the supply of gnats and mosquitoes around our home, we decided to experiment a bit and turn the racket on each other. Be forewarned: unless you are highly experienced in electro-play like we are, please do not attempt this. It delivers quite a satisfying jolt upon contact, and I firmly believe that this product will eventually make its way onto the S&M websites. So whether you are looking to zap insects or intensify your "play", we HIGHLY recommend this product. It now has a place of honor in our "toybox" and we can't wait to use it again, this time most likely with the addition of some Halloween "bug" outfits.

Awesome effectiveness

This is by FAR the most effective bug zapper I have ever found. With the number of BBQ's that we host, these zappers have come into great use. Instant on/off and decently long battery life. The best part of this tool is how quickly (instantaneously) it zaps small critter like flies and gnats and mosquitos, and even how you simply swipe a wasp or bee and the critters literally cling harder to the mesh as they fry in about 4 seconds. The wasps are an issue for us just as much as the flies. Now both are very effectively controlled with this device - just swipe away. I cannot rave enough about this product!
