Progressive International Onion Chopper (Anonymous)
This Progressive Onion Chopper does a good job, but you still need to slice the onion before you put it in the chopper. It won't chop through half of an onion like it claims. I wish I had bought the Vidalia Onion Wizard because it comes with 2 inserts (one for chopping and one for dicing). I haven't been able to find another insert for the Progressive that is a different size.

I LOVE MY CHOPPER! I make salsa alot, and ALWAYS use the chopper for all the tomatoes, onions, garlic, green peppers and even the jalapenos! I learned that the trick is to just slice your items and you get an amazing result. This was the best Christmas present I have ever received!

I just opened this product and used it for the first time. I selected an onion that had been in ther fridge for awhile - maybe a month or two. I cut the onion and peeled the skin as directed but COULD NOT get the thing to chop the onion no matter how hard I pushed down on the cover. I remembered reading reviews before I bought it that said it didn't work, but I thought "How could this thing ever have made it to market if it didn't work?" I cleaned the mush from the first onion out from the slicing blades and selected a fresher onion (bought just this week)from the fridge. PRESTO!! The thing worked like a charm! I haven't tried any other veggies yet, but I can attest that if you use fresh onions, this baby works. If the onions are not fresh, forget about it. Unless you are Arnold Schwarzenegger, you will never get the cover down (this is probably why some people complain that it breaks), and if you do manage to get the cover down on a less-than-fresh onion without breaking the device, you will be rewarded with a pile of mush. The instructions do say that ease of chopping will vary with size and freshness of onion, but they probably need to stress this more to save users from a lot of frustration & disappointment. This chopper comes with only one fixed blade, and it cuts the onion into very small (1/4 in. square) pieces. The VIDALIA Chopper looks to be identical, but it comes with an additional larger blade - for more money, of course. I probably would have bought the VIDALIA Chopper if I had realized this but am still satisfied with this so far. FRESH ONIONS are the ticket! Buy this and enjoy!

I like the chopper it works great. I make my own salsa in 5 minutes or less. The chopper is strong and can chop half an onion at a time. The dices are small so you can add onion to all your recipes for flavor and the kids won't even know their in there.

When we first got onion chopper, I thought that it wouldn't hold up as it was mostly plastic, but we've chopped many, many gallons of vegetables and other items with it. We traditionally make several gallons of fresh salsa for our July 4th get together. Usually, it takes hours to get all of the peppers, onions, garlic and tomatoes chopped. This year, I used the vidalia chopper to do ALL of the chopping. It will chop onion, carrots, celery, tomatoes, anything that is firm. It makes the best fresh salsa.

Once I figured out how to cut the onions and how much to put in the tray I must tell you I was amazed. It cut each onion perfectly and didn't turn it to mush as I thought it would. I now use it not only for the onions but for the celery, bell pepper, green onions, and pickles I have reduced my time preparing the chicken salad by 30 minutes. I just love it and I have told everyone I know about it. One thing is you have to figure out which blade is best for each veggie once you do it is the greatest little gadget. I am now buying one for my home and for a few of my friends

TOO Good! (Anonymous)
I found the onion chopper to be very helpful for food preparation. It speeds up the preparation of onions for use in all foods using chopped onions. In addition, it is easily cleaned by putting it in the dish washer. As a bonus, it can be used to chop a number of other vegetables and a number of fruits.
