Olivia Newton John - Designed to help you do a convenient breast self-exam.

Olivia Newton John found a lump through BSE sixteen years ago, and she credits the fact that through early self-detection, she quite possibly saved her own life. Her dream is that every woman in the world will get a Liv® Aid and begin performing regular BSE between annual mammograms and doctor check-ups. LIV® AID is a heart shaped medical device that a woman can use every month to perform a correct breast self-exam. It enhances a woman's sense of touch and makes the BSE process simpler and much more sensitive.
Feel right. Feel Healthy. Feel Confident. Designed to help you do a convenient breast self-exam.
Important: It is very important that you understand three necessary components of a comprehensive breast-screening program.
- Mammograms
- Regular clinical breast exams by your doctor
- Breast self-examination (with or without the Liv® Aid)
Warnings: Breast self-examination with or without the Liv® Aid is not a replacement for a mammogram or clinical breast exam by your doctor. It is very important that you have regular clinical exams and mammograms as advised by your doctor. Report any changes found either with your bare hand or the Liv® Aid exam to your doctor for proper evaluation. If you discover a lump, puckering or discharge during either a bare-handed breast exam or a Liv® Aid exam it is important that you see your doctor as soon as possible.
Specific Disclaimer: There is not guarantee that the Liv® Aid will detect breast cancer, lumps or any other breast disease. Breast self-examination is a part of good health care but is not a substitute for regular medical examinations. Clinical breast examinations and mammograms should be regularly performed by a qualified physician. Changes found during breast self-examination should be promptly reported to your physician for proper evaluations. Women with prior health problems or disease should rely primarily on more frequent clinical examinations. Women with reconstructive surgery of the breast or breast implants should consult with their physician before using this product.
- Examine yourself on the same day monthly (best done a week after your period). Look into the mirror with your hands on your waist. Do you notice any changes in the shape? Any swelling? Do you notice skin changes such as dimpling or puckering or an "orange peel" look to your skin?
- Next, look again for the same changes with your arms held over your head. Does it look normal for you?
- Now lie down with a small pillow under your right shoulder. Put your right arm behind your head. Place the Liv Aid over your right breast. Glide the fingers of your left hand over the Liv Aid in a circular motion, using light pressure. Once you examine the entire area covered by the Liv Aid, move to the next area until the entire breast is examined. You should do your exam using light, medium, and firm pressure. Repeat these steps for your left breast using your right hand.
Care & Storage
Simply use a mild soap to wash Liv Aid. Rinse with warm water and let it dry. Never put it into the microwave. Just hold the Liv Aid for a few minutes in your hands until it reaches a comfortable body temperature. Store at room temperature in this pouch.
