A flood is awful. We use water everyday, but not a whole lot of our stuff is waterproof, so when water meets stuff, it's usually time for new stuff. This little flood alarm does exactly what it says. It emits a REALLY LOUD alarm when the probe comes in contact with water. I installed this near our washing machine after a minor flood because of overflow at the drain. About three weeks later, peace of mind turned into a real stuff saver when it overflowed again. Granted, now we need to have the drain looked at, but the investment in a flood alarm was well worth it.
