French fries are made, not born! You can get all the fresh flavor of homemade fries, as opposed to those freezer burned specimens that come from a plastic bag, by making them at home. This specialty gadget cuts those spuds into neat even sticks, season as you wish and fry (or bake).

This lightweight french fry cutter divides a potato into it's french-fry essence in a jiffy. One blade creates up to 49 3/8-inch fries with a single lever-push. The other creates up to 25 half-inch fries. You'll get those numbers, however, only if you precisely shape a large potato to fit the bed. The bed's size is the cutter's only drawback. Even if you cut a large potato to fit the head, the fry length is at most 3-1/2 inches. That length, however, is ideal for carrot, cucumber, and zucchini batons to assemble a vegetable tray around a bagna cauda, an Italian dipping sauce of olive oil, butter, garlic, and anchovies. And such batons get you halfway to a pretty dice for a vegetable soup.

Progressive International Vegetable/French Fry Cutter

This is an awesome kitchen gadget! We make fries about 1 or 2 x a month and for a family of 7, that's a lot of fries! Home made fries are so much better than store bought frozen fries. You'll really have to try this to believe how well it works. I saw that a few other people felt it was too flimsy, but really it has to give a little or else it would break. Believe me, I've churned out a lot of fries and it's still in perfect working order. Just buy it, try it, and you'll LOVE it!
